James was a resident of a neighborhood in Los Angeles. Lived there, shopped there. Enjoyed the community just like his neighbors. But issues with finances and his income caused him to lose his apartment and became severe challenges to him finding a new home. He never imagined he would spend years of restless nights without a home.

For James, having keys to his own place is a surreal feeling as he was without a home for so long. When he first opened the door of his apartment, he prayed and gave thanks to God. Having his own place has given him a sense of security that he so greatly missed. Now that James is settled in, he is searching for employment and looking forward to joining the workforce again. His advice for others is to have faith, and have patience. It is also crucial, he says, "to respect people and stay on top of things."

James is so grateful for his new home. He says, "It’s unbelievable what PATH has done, there were so many times when I wanted to give up but after a couple months I now have a place I can call a home."
