Today we delivered another batch of donation shoes to The Village Family Services' Drop-in Center in North Hollywood, California. This is the second time we donated shoes to and held our Brethren Support Circle at this site. The Village provides comprehensive services to help foster transition aged youth and homeless youth via the Drop-in Center, where youth receive individualized case management, housing navigation services, placement into supportive housing, specialized therapeutic services, and participate in empowerment programs.
Seven young men and young women participated in the Support Circle today. We had a heartfelt share of what excites everyone / what everyone looks forward to currently, which led to a lively and non-judgmental discussion on various topics, including parenthood, freedom, choice, money, passion, prayer, faith, and much more! Even though the participants are in their late teens and early twenties, most of them had lots of deep insights and wisdom to share because of the pain and hardships they've been going through. While some of the stories were heart-wrenching, the room was filled with love and light, and everyone was very supportive of each other.
We'll be back soon, TVFS!
