Today we made our 4th delivery of donation shoes. Instead of a shelter, we went to the streets of LA with Project Ropa, a non-profit in Los Angeles that brings vital basic necessities to people experiencing and transitioning out of homelessness each week. According to Caitlin Adler, founder of Project Ropa, shoes are the number one requested item from the people they serve and they rarely have enough men's shoes to meet the demand. I was able to join Caitlin this morning and serve those on Skid Row. Everyone was so happy to see us and one brother said to me as he was putting on his new kicks: "Today feels like my birthday and Christmas all rolled up in one!"
